Yes, Personalised Number Plates are transferrable from person to person and from car to car. Each Province has a different fee for this.

There are NO annual fees but your usual annual Car License Renewal Fee is applicable. Depending on the Province you live in, additional fees include an Allocation Fee as well as the pro rate License Fee which is payable to the Municipality when you “link” the plate to a car.
Depending on the Province it could take from 48 hours to 5 working days after submission of your application and all the supporting documentation.
You have a 21-day window period from the time the plate is approved to when you have to pay for your plate. If no payment is forthcoming, the plate will go back into the System, for another client.
In most Provinces you have 12 months to allocate to a vehicle.
